Kiefer, stop saying that!
by Rosseau

The Bank of America ads that have Kiefer Sutherland narrating where he says in each commercial: "This is America." Gee, Mr. Sutherland, I know this is America, you know this is America, everybody watching knows this is America, because we all live in America, see how annoying that phrase becomes. And the way he says it in that voice drives one to leave America to escape the ads.

And the award for most revolting ad of 2008 goes to... hotels.com!!! Yes, by depicting two poor hotel employees blowing bubbles into a demanding guest's tub (because humiliating servitude is hilarious) while he's taking a bath, you, hotels.com show that these employees are really not people and that they will endure disease to please their sick, sadistic guests. What drove the ad over the top is the little coughing one of the poor saps does at the end. Ah, I didn't know utter disgust could sell things! Does this ad work, everybody; will you use hotels.com in the future?

Lord, that is an awful ad...

If hotels.com was so good, you'd think you could use it to find a hotel that came equipped with a spa, rather than to browbeat poor working stiffs into such a demeaning and disgusting situation.

One thing I hate about the Bank of America commercial is all of that "Americans know how to save, Americans are so great at saving" garbage. What a load of rubbish! Americans don't know how to save ANYTHING. Americans suck when it comes to saving and thriftiness!

I agree. Most disgusting ad ever. Aren't these employees providing "bl-w j-bs?"
