Hugh Laurie & Rowan Atkinson

I think while you pick on a good part of Laurie's past as a great comedy team, I will also always remember him for his fantastic roles on "Black Adder" as he played the incredibly dense characters that were handed him. From a buffoonish soldier (BlackAdder Goes Forth) to an ill equipped royal (BlackAdder II I think).

It's fun looking back on Laurie's earlier role, and I keep hoping that some day, Atkinson would make a guest shot on "House" :)

You beat me to the reply! I also love the Atkinson & Laurie episodes. Quite fun!

Blackadder goes forth is still the best

and I find it hard not to shed a tear at the very end.

Hugh Laurie first (?) showed up in the Blackadders at the end of Blackadder II as the disguised German assassin, Stephen Fry's Lord Melchitt being one of his victims. Laurie was back in Blackadder the Third as the delightfully dim-witted Prince Regent George, heir to George III (a.k.a. "King Pengvin), and his empty-headed, enthusiastic cry of "Hurrah!" lives to this day in many e-mails between me and my son. Fry returned in the final show as the Duke of Wellington, and appeared as General Melchitt in Blackadder Goes Forth. Wooster and Jeeves was a delight. I can't wait to get ahold of their sketch show stuff.
