Courage in Georgia
by TheRanger

In 2003 with the courage which Americans can identify with in retrospect to the American Revolution, the people of Georgia held what is known as the Rose Revolution. In a tremendous show of unity and non-violence, many people including many young persons held single roses as they marched against the puppet dictator from Russia, President Eduard Shevardnadze after a bogus election. Although the government thought the cold and rain would end the demonstration on the first day, it continued as people shared ponchos and took turns warming themselves in churches. The elections were eventually nullified and free elections were held in which Shevardnadze lost.

Maybe that is why people admire Georgians; they stand for what they believe in.

I don't admire Georgians...I think they have #$*&) for brains, they are stupid to put their faith in BUSH the idiot and they are stupid if they think Americans are going to fight for that tie chewing piece of running American Cheeze, Saakashvilli.

I don't vote in Georgia, I don't have property in Georgia and I don't even #*(% in Georgia so I am not Georgian.

You and Blackwater go fight the Russians in Georgia, you slithering slime. I hope they kick your ass and Blackwater's ass into the Arctic before it melts.

You SPECULATORS! Carpet bagging world trotting sociopaths speculating us into hell.

Bizzaro world...

Well, that is unsurprising. No sooner does a meaningful and thoughtful post make it to the Fray than our old friend candoxx shows up to throw a completely, almost amusingly insane, spanner in the works. Let us all please note: candoxx does not own property in Georgia. Perhaps s/he rents?
hm, they believe in shooting civilans...

...and you admire that. what can I say? the Ranger is an asshole?
Re: hm, they believe in shooting civilans...

Well, I am STILL not Georgian. I am a US citizen, from a long line of US citizens, one of whose blood is on Iwo Jima and another who served for the Union during the US Civil War, so don't tell me I'm some Georgian, and certianly not because you think they are cute!

I am open to allegiance for a VOLUNTARY world government, where member states and their people are treated equally and fairly.

And I no longer believe this "Rose revolution" happened, nor to I believe anything the US media says...I saw the way they lied about Tibet, because on the Net and on CCTV, there was a lot of footage and commentary, the lies came through like for instance, our media claims no religious freedom, but I saw those TIbetan monks beating the hell out of other TIbetans and Han Chinese, so if there is no religious freedom, where the hell do all those monks come from? Its astonishing and appalling how the US/West just LIES.

More generally, Mr. Ranger chooses the revolutions and demonstrators he supports, just like his Cons choose the elections they endorse, like in Gaza, or the elections they steal, like one the MUG PIRATE CON COURT stole for Bush.

This past week there were massive demonstrations in Georgia against Saakashvilli, but Mr. Ranger does not care about those demostrations.

While there is a good deal of frustration among Georgians, primarily those now forcibly removed from South Ossetia, with the obviously short-sighted actions of their president, there have assuredly been no "massive demonstrations in Georgia against Saakashvilli." I'm not a longtime daily reader of the Fray so I don't know the backstory, but this "candoxx" person's posts are rather ludicrous, to the point I think they're a put-on. At any rate, any "massive" demonstrations of any kind for any reason pro- or con- in any location would, up until and including right now, be dispersed.
coming from you...

candoxx, I appreciate your family's patriotic history, but given that you have stated elsewhere that you are a Maoist, am not sure that carries a lot of credibility.

Re: coming from you...
by candoxx

I see I have cought your attention and you are attacking me personally...that does not please me at all, go away, leave me alone, I am just shooting off my mouth, I am very old and can do nothing about anything. I am only amusing myself.

I am not a Maoist, although I rather like Mao Tsetung. I believe in God, but not any religion; most religious are part of the government, actually, or serve a governent, not even MAN. I think I'm a social democrat, as far as I can tell, and rather libertarian in numerous ways. I was a Clinton Democrat for a long time, but that was before George Bush and you all have pushed me to the left.

Since I actually believe in God, I cannot lie; God does not lie. Thou shalt not lie.

But why the Bush Administration is paying lip services in assisting your admirable Georgians? Make no mistakes, many "admirable" Georgians are accusing the Americans of not helping them.

Good question.

Armenia 1915, Spain 1936, Vienna 1938, China 1937, Czechsovokia 1938, Poland 1944, Hungary 1956, Czechzovokia (again) 1968, Bosnia 1993, Kosovo 1998, Darfur 2006...

We in the West, especially the US, have a habit of giving "moral support", but nothing else, to people inspired by us to rise up only to be smashed by some totalitarian regime or other.

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.
