When the US War Crimes trials are over in Iraq
by ard_vrk
then and ONLY then will I feel that any "progress" has been made. I realize that holding the trials over there will make it difficult to get a coveted front-row seat for the carrying out of the sentences for treason and crimes against humanity, but since it'll be the event of a lifetime, I won't mind paying the extra $$$.

Techincally, the appropriate venue would be at The Hauge. I wouldn't hold my breath for any sort of punishment out of that court though, seeing as how they couldn't manage to convict Milosevic given several years to do so.

Plus, offering up any U.S. service members from Iraq would open the door for the prosecution of guys like John Kerry, Bob Kerrey, and John McCain for things that happened in Vietnam, and possibly even Bill Clinton for the number of civilian deaths which resulted from the high-altitude bombing of Kosovo before sending in NATO ground forces.
