The Fray

Again, whether doing verbal, irreverent somersaults around the nonsensical babbling of pious people with more time on their hands than sense or, writing about the political state of the world, Hitchens never ceases to put into a few lines what others struggle to keep within a book.

"Mission Accomplished" fit on a banner on an aircraft carrier years ago.

Being correct is a better virtue than being brief.

"Never ceases" would the important phrase there, yes indeed.

I completely agree, Htichens manages to fill just a few paragraphs with more errors and pompous overwritten language than most people could manage in an entire book.

The "emancipation" line was particularly stunning. Yes, we managed to emancipate nearly a million of them, by some counts, but the idea that anyone should be proud of that is just sickening.
