AND, it's happening, just enough to drop a few prices during the month of August to crunch figures, then let the chips fall where they might in coming months. Clever rascals, huh? It kind'a makes a guy wonder who is on whose side, or perhaps even worse, is anyone on our side?

So, while our elected officials continue to tool around the Washington Merry-go-round with expense accounts, not needing to worry about the rise of fall of prices, we can continue to struggle along on a lessor increase in SS next year. And we can foot the bill for excursions to China for our elected few while we are forced to buy Chinese made products to make ends meet.

Correlation is not causation, regardless of how much one wishes it so. If you can show causation, I'll gladly acknowledge your claim as correct though.

No, I never said it didn't merit thought, just that it was far from proven.

In fact I'll give you evidence to the contrary.

If you look at historical prices, gas always goes up in the summer and declines in the fall, which has nothing to do with elections since it happens every year.

I can't tell you all the "why's", but I can show that election cycles aren't causative, since it happens in off-election years as well.

Could be return of kids to school,less families on the roads ,something as simple as that.

Less farming...less cost in harvesting than in ground preparation and seeding ,cultivating etc....no irrigation during winter,no fuel to run pumps etc

You and I discussed this a few months ago. Gasoline, one of the several fuels used as a water board on the American People, will soon turn cheap again and the lot of Americans will suspect but not investigate the oil companies and middleman corruption. Just as they allowed their officials to lumber into this mess they will do little to follow up on the greatest environmental fraud in our history.

Soon, I will be installing my SOLAR STILL and turning atmosphere into clean drinking water and fuel. What a pleasure it will be to roll into a filling station and fill up with water instead of gasoline. The same can be done with home heating fuels.

I wasn't bitching. I was pointing out that I anticipated the economy would be manipulated in August to defray a healthier increase in COLA, and it would appear I was right. It's an annual affair; the fed crunching figures to support whatever program they're pitching, to include things such as "employment" stats, even "reasons" for embarking on wars.

I asked for nothing and I'm getting closer an closer to that end.
