For years now, we've been hearing that we would stay until we achieved "victory", but the definition of victory was never clear and ever changing. But after reading Hitch's latest, I think I get it. We've only got to stay until Iraq can pay back the trillion or so we will have spent in the invasion, destruction, occupation, and reconstruction. That will be "victory" at last, and we'll finally be able to leave (our permanent bases behind?).
