I didn't win the lottery.
by Boltlady
I even bought a ticket. I have never won the lottery, but then I don't usually buy a ticket so I can kind of understand that. This time though I decided that I needed to win the lottery so I bought one. Now I'm right back to where I was before I didn't win.

My life has been so educational and exciting lately, it's just chock full of opportunities. You know that the Chinese say there are no such things as problems, only opportunities, so I'm looking at it from that direction. I figured that I could do a much better job of handling all those opportunities if I could just win the lottery. So now I have an even bigger opportunity to learn how to do it without winning it.

The education lately has been amazing. There I was thinking that I had learned something about how the stock market works. I was aware that WS is very crooked and had even mentioned that here a time or two. But, I really had no idea of just how corrupt it can be. So here I am getting a first hand lesson which is really very interesting and a real eye opener. I just wish that these lessons weren't so darned expensive. Virtually every one of my stocks is offering it's own opportunities in addition to all the others that I have going on in my life.

With all of the opportunities I barely have time to myself. I figured that if I won the lottery, one of the things that I could do would be to take a vacation. I really need one. As it is, while others are stuck basking in the sunlight on a beautiful beach somewhere or enjoying some magnificent mountains, I get to stay right here and have fun dealing with all of my opportunities. Such a deal.

Here in NY the lottery motto is "All you need is a dollar and a dream". I"ve got my dollar and I've got my dream but NY state keeps dropping the ball. Actually I must confess, I don't play the Lottery. That money comes in handy in other areas ;)

I tried to take advantage of a NEW opportunity....where I might end up in Denver, at the Democrat convention, with free lodging for myself, and a hand picked companion (You would never believe who I had in mind for that position!)...by donating to Obama's campaign by July 31st. TEN big winnders...who would get the all expense trip for free, PLUS (Now get this) and get to be BACK STAGE with Obama! WOW!

I've not been notified yet, that I'm one of the lucky ten, but then, opportunity tells me I haven't been notified that I'm NOT, either:-) And for the price of a few lottery tickets, I took the chance, helped him out, and didn't come across as a miser either. One could have donated only the cost of ONE lottery ticket, but I thought that was a bit 'cheap' appearing, so I chose to up the ante a bit.

Hey, unless we were planning to cash in our stocks, we're okay....right now, I have more time (hopefully) than I have money in the markets...I'm on the downside too. But using that Chinese theory, we can utilize 'time' to sit on our asses, and hope and pray for the markets to start healing...which I think will happen, especially with a democrat in the Oval office this time round. Otherwise, with the republican offering (more of the status quo) this might be an opportunity to cash out, take our losses, and cut and run, before they hit rock bottom:-)

I'm going for broke...I'm going to do the Chinese thing...and jump off the Great Wall, if I can get there!

Well good luck to you!

Is that good luck on going to Denver, or the markets coming back, or a democrat in the oval office, or getting out of the stock market now and cutting more losses, or jumping off the Great Wall in China? :-)

Or all of the above?

See, with opportunities comes choices.

Lots and lots of choices;-)

I'm convinced that it's all one big rigged scam! Of course, if it is....there's an awful lot of people that someone's gonna have to knock off to keep the secret.

I used to win at least $3.00 every now and then. I haven't won even that amount in YEARS. The mathematical probablity of me winning 'something' in all these years backs up my suspicions. It's got to be rigged (computer-controlled).

BL, my favorite quote..........

"There's nothing to worry about, just a lost of things to think about."

Some days it's a great big challenge but then I figure worry hasn't solved anything so I'm trying my darndest to just think. Uh, is there a difference somewhere between worry and thnking? I'm still trying to sort that out.

Uh, Loree, not to pour salt in the wound

but Pidge got a backstage pass and a meeting with Obama when he was at Munster Steel. She was even called into service by the Secret Service to guard the hallway to the johns. Got to meet Candy Crowley there.
