I was dumbfounded reading the letter from "I just want to be heard", whose mother and father-in-law were dating. The parents had the GALL not to consult the daughter about their relationship! They brazenly attend the SAME CHURCH as the daughter! (Although frankly, given what a shallow, petty, offensive pill the daughter is, I can't imagine why they want to.) "I just want to be heard" is heard, for sure - her whining, selfish, "me me me" attitude comes right off the page. Daughter needs to MYOB and get a life, instead of obsessing over her mother's choice in friends.

No shit! What is the daughter's problem? My mother-in-law and my father are both dead. I don't see it happening but if my mother wanted to date the old man, why should I care? How would that make my husband my brother? Stupid.

The church thing and the last name business was really over the top. It just so happens that my husband's last name is the same as my mother's maiden name. No, my husband and I are not related.

Likewise, my former mother-in-law shared a common surname with her husband. There was no blood relation-just a common surname. Big deal!
