Thanks for your very informative article. I agree with the premise that antibiotic resistance can be mitigated by avoiding antibiotics in the first place (which can be difficult when you have so many doctors pushing them on us for even minor ailments), by teaching consumers to take them properly, and by eating foods that are free of antibiotics. Unfortunately, only certified organic foods can make that claim equivocally. And with companies that are producing antibiotics that are added to cheese, what hope do we have? We've come full circle. Never before have I seen such an atmosphere of fear towards microscopic organisms, which have been around since before the dawn of time. The more we try to manipulate them, the more trouble we are likely to get into.
