Shocking! Some journalist in Germany is anti American.

At least this was included:

"The roughly 70,000 South Ossetians and residents in Georgia's other rebel region of Abkhazia, who aspire to re-unification with Russia, became an irrevocable part of Kremlin foreign policy since the beginning of this year, used as rhetorical collateral in Russia's disagreements with the West.

With Kosovo's independence in February, Russian opposition took the form of a threat that its example would provoke a "domino effect" in the Caucasus.

This fear was no less present in Georgia, which has not recognized Kosovo's western-supported independence, and Moscow's line served to amplify separatist claims in the region.

Saakashvili has made re-asserting control over the rebel regions a priority of his presidency, as part of a concerted policy for rapprochement with the West focused in a bid to join NATO in April.

Then-President Putin projected NATO's eastward expansion as a menacing betrayal and perpetuation of Western containment policy, but Moscow's key argument ran contra: That NATO membership would re-ignite civil war against Tbilisi's control.

Had Tbilisi become a NATO member, the alliance would be obliged to protect it militarily, pitting Western alliance troops against Russian fighters -- a fact that did not escape European diplomats who voted to delay Georgian membership in the alliance despite Bush's personal backing of the bid."

This article says Georgia invaded South Ossetia...yet Rice calls on Russia to leave...when Georgia was a breakaway in the first place which was used to justify the NATO presence in Georgie, like, hay, they want independence, but when South Ossetia wants independence from Georgia, its oh no!

The hypocrisy and open, sick power grabs, are insane...this is no way to lead the world, this is CONQUORING, old style, and it will lead ONLY to disaster. We have got to stop it before it is too late.

We are the invaders now; we are the ones provoking hell on earth.

This has the fingerprints of the Bush administration all over it. It's the standard Rethug political campaign tactic of pushing fear and war judt before an election. I hope the country won't be so naive as to follow along again and vote into power another four years of Bush in the form of McSame!

No wonder Dubya decided to be the first US president to attend the opening ceremonies of the Olympics on foreign soil. It helps if you're out of the country (or reading to kindergasrtners in Texas) when trouble breaks out. That way you casn play innocent and - hopefully - get away with it.

Georgia has been subjugated by Russia

Hey macrol! the same thing could be said about Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq, only it's been a lot longer than 200 years!

So, what's your pont - other than trying to make some sort of dumb-ass excuse for Bush's stupidity and Rice's incompetence?

They weren't alive for most of those

of the US by definition and that every ill and problem of mankind is caused by America and includes problems like the Black Plague which occurred 500 years before America was founded. In fact you probaly believe that the Black Plague was concocted in some US lab back in the 13th century and on and on.
