I'm happy there are vegans

It gives the other 99.9% of the world's population something to laugh at.

I am vegan who laughs everytime I see a fat, glutonous American have a heart attack before the age of 50.

Laughing at death? Wow. A vegan and a jackass.

I strongly support being vegan. It leaves so much more food for the rest of us!

Yes, most of the world's non-vegitarian population is obese. But, that doesn't mean everyone should go vegitarian. Excercise, eating lean meats, and cutting back on your calorie intake can help with that. But meats are needed for protien, and tons of other things. I don't blame vegitarians for the way they choose to eat, I honestly respect what they are trying to do, as I abhor animal abuse - to some extent (pets) - myself. I do believe there should be a compromise, though. Perhaps if vegetarians let up a little, and the rest of the population started eating more like a vegetarian, then we would all be mutually happy.

As far as the honeybees go. I believe that we SHOULD indeed cut down on honey production. Afterall, do we REALLY need all that honey that sits on store shelves forever?

Look. I really am a nice guy, but the original poster was obviously mocking veganism so I decided to jab back. I just think it is funny when I get lectured by unhealthy, obese people about what my diet is missing (to that point...I get plenty of protein from non-animal sources).

One time, a client of mine (who for the record had giant man-boobs) was telling me that a nurse friend of his was telling him about all of the vegans/vegetarians who come in to the hospital with medical problems. I said really, what about all the meat eaters who come in with high blood pressure, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, clogged arteries, and heart disease?

Why do we accept these serious, yet easily avoided problems as normal, but if someone is a little anemic (and most vegans are NOT...including myself) it is like they have leprosy?

I joined The Fray because the article was relevant. When people find out that I am a vegan I get asked a lot of questions, but I definitely do not seek out to lecture people.
