Really? Blogging on a story that is buried even in the National Inquirer? Now that is just sad. Get over it Kaus, this is just your obsession, not the negligence of the media.

Why does Kaus want so desperately to beat up this story? Everyone knows it's a scam designed to take attention away from Obama and smear him by association just like they used to do in the good ol' McCarthy days.

Were you expecting photographs of Edwards and Hunter doing the matress mambo?

If the photographs do in fact depict Edwards holding the child of Hunter, the real question is how were they obtained. The fuzzy photo of the man holding the baby look like they were taken with a hidden camera, inside the room. Unless Hunter was in on "The Sting", NE would have to be breaking some kind of law. The NE is sleazy, but they are not stupid.

If Hunter was in fact, in on it, then it would stand to reason, she knows Edwards is the father. She is afterall, a Hollywood D-List wanna-be. "IF" the story is true, she could stand to profit.

All the "ifs" and "whys", and the he said she said aspect of this story, is eventually going to be irresistable food for the 24/7 cable news beast.

laforce, your the one talking about Obama, not Mickey, so maybe your the one making the connection... then again since Obama has decided that every ad he makes from now on will have McCain and Bush hanging out in it.... maybe you should look at your own candidate before you look at the others...

Up to this week, Obama's ads barely mentined McCain. Then Schmidt decided to turn the pre-convention period into a smear fest. This is his last chance to spend all that bundled money he got from really really suspicious sources. It's vile, but what choice does he have?
