Obama Flip flops again. Can't stand on his principles

apparently..that is if he ever had any priniciples.and it seems to becoming ever more(if that were even possible at this point) more evident, that he does not.

Today just as I predicted here on BOTF, about two months ago when I argued in favor of The American Solutions Program for drilling Offshore here Obama is now one more time shifting his position about being against Offshore drilling in the USA.

At the time, I argued for the immediacy of the need to do so and how it would not only be a way to help take back control of own natural resources but also create jobs, boost the economies of the areas and states involved in the drilling processes, but also give Americans a boost to their spirits and a sense of empowerment, in that we would be getting busy and active in taking at least some of the reins and control back from the countries we currently depend on for foriegn oil.

Of course Obama has been firmly and adamently opposed to Offshore drilling and recently continued to be so.

At the time, when I posted that here on BOTF,The Children Of The Obamacorn raged against this idea from every inconceivable angle. Aand were absolutely certain that they and Obama was right to be against it and would never ever change his position on it.

Oh, how the wailed, protesting the wickedness of such an idea claiming how it was a crime against the environment or some other, equally neurotic, pontification that is predicatably common among The Obamacorn Nation.

I calmly continued my reasons for my views and ended with the caveat, that a full nearly 70% of Americans agree with the idea and that I fully expect Mr. Messiah will soon be changing his tune on it as well.

Well, what do you know?

He just did.

(seriously Obamatrons does it ever get to you how sad it is for you to have a leader who you work so hard to argue in favor of his and the democratic platform only to find him kicking you in the teeth when he his back is to the wall and his spineless back shifts from position to ever changing position?)

that much be rough on you.

It's only a matter of time before he promises to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, cut the capital gains tax, bomb Iran, tap everyone's phone, build the border fence and reverse Roe v Wade.

The biggest beef I have with armchair politics is the sitting at home comfy in front of the computer part, fermenting. While you're all in here out top posting each other, people are in need or hungry as hell. Since No One here is going to change No One's mind then I don't see the point in screaming in here.

We all know who you're not voting for. We heard you the first time. Go on and scream more if you need, but people are practically right outside your door waiting for someone, anyone to come along and buy them a bag of groceries.

I see your point. But there's been so much stuff suddenly breaking on Obama regarding his changing positions and his gaffes, that it has been fun for me being as I am for McCain to play around on The Fray with it all.

But true, there are many other important things in the world to be considering and trying to work on.

I might share with you since you are cat lover, that my sweet cat of ten years now seems to be starting to show some age and beginning to fail a bit. I was talking with my guy today about her. We need to take her up to the vet soon and see what if anything can be done to help her.

She's okay except that lately she doesn't make her mark when she jumps from place to place. She is knocking over lamps and picture frames latley..stuff like that.

I imagine it's just age or perhaps she had a very mild stroke.

But she seems happy, just a bit less spry and a bit more needy in the sense she wants to cuddle all the time, more than usual.

Doesn't appear to be in pain.

But after reading Urq's post last night about his dog and the blood clot..I'm thinking we really need to have her get a check up.

Anyway..that's been on my mind heavily lately...seeing your post and knowing your love for cats made me want to share it with you.

I remember seeing the precious photo of Maui when he was ill..and it was really very sad. I remember his pics when he was younger. It was sad to see the change in him. I know that was really hard for you. I know how much he meant to you. So,I hope you're doing well

Best wishes as always.

lol!

And all that while he mutters to himself while drooling from a Posture pedic bed...go figure.

;-)

So, flip-flops are bad, then. Do I have that right?
by tartuffe

Obviously, then, you're opposing McSame with all your might.

Dear anti-Obama bot...

Oh LAM, what's it like to be you? You go to the ends of the earth to deride others obsession with Obama while at the same time posting about him 15 times in the past 10 hours, oodles more than anyone else has today...or most any day for that matter. You deride Obama for not supporting offshore drilling and then you somehow managed to twist the fact that he seems to agree with you about getting something done about energy prices into something negative. The whole concept of contradiction is really just meaningless to you, isn't it? When you sleep do you dream of square circles?
Re: Dear anti-Obama bot...

but I like it because it shows me how insanely Obamatron logic is.

In other words what your Obama tron logic tells you is whenever Obama flip flops from his supposed principled positions for political expediancy everyone should shout Hosanna Hosanna on the Highest..Obama finally made the right choice!

and because he flip flopped (for political gain and not out of any moral principle) and abandoned his prior stated beliefs on an issues ...that he should be congratulated for that?

Is that your logic, dear?

tell me more....

veddy interesting......

Leapin' Lizards, Batman! She's a hilariously entertaining
by tartuffe

trainwreck, isn't she?

Yes, please do show how even one of McSame's infinitude of flip-flops passes this test:

flip flopped (for political gain and not out of any moral principle) and abandoned his prior stated beliefs on an issues ...that he should be congratulated for that?

You're full of shit, Gypsy. My guess is that you'd be of a completely different opinion if your little god were way ahead in the polls. As it is, it is all so irrelevant and we should be about the business of tending to world hunger rather than expressing our political opinion.

Also, I don't come here to change anyone's mind. That is not my intent nor is it my hope. I come here to vent and, when things are going my way politically, to rub salt in open wounds.

You side has chosen as its nominee for president, the phoniest, most shallow individual who has ever come on the scene in American politics. My fervent hope is that he, and you, suffer humiliating and heart-wrenching loss at the polls in November. I hope you all need therapy when this is all over.

Jack

In all seriousness I guess what you don't understand is...
by LaurieAnnM

at the end of the day people really feel more comfortable with a person who stand on their convictions rather than switching their positions in the middle of an election campaign.

Politicians do change the agenda and their positions at times but rarely during the middle of a camapign, as every campaign has it's own definitive agenda which is known as it's Platform.

The Platform they run on..is backed by donors who want their platform to be supported by the candidates they endorse.

In Obama's case and the DNC's, a big part of the Democratic Platform is to be tightly on the side of enviromentalists..so, in this regard, Obama is putting himself at odds with his own party and he's not doing it out of principle, but rather ,only because he sees that it's a loser for him to be against drilling ,when 70% of the public is for it.That's a shameful reason to change.

That makes him look like a guy who will do and say anything to win.

.And in turn makes people say,' just what does this guy really believe or stand for, if anything?'

That's his big problem now.

Not only with this most recent flip flop but also and probably even more sol with how he threw the Platform in the toilet when he voted with Bush on Federal Spying (FISA), as well as renigging on his promise to utilise and live by the rules of public campaign finance laws, that were created after Watergate.

There's much that Mr. Obama has said and done lately that sets him up for great derision, indeed.

Let me turn the question around on you. Let's say you and your friend have a disagreement and then a few days later your friend calls and says "You know, I think you may have been kinda right about that" Would you then jump on the 'ol BotF board and tell everyone what an unprincipled flip-flopper they were? No. If fact, one might think that someone changing their mind so it is in agreement with what you think... is a good thing! Most people's complaint about flip-flopping (when it's not in an attack-ad) is that the person has changed to adopt a position you DON"T agree with. But you're anti-Obama bot logic can't see past Obama's comprimise/flip-flop to the greater good, namely that he now seems to agree with you (shudder).

I'm not at all saying you should praise him, only that it's maybe part of your neurosis (I'm writing a paper on you...is that OK?) that you can only see anything Obama related in the most negative light. This takes things farther than your normal screaming into a jar, you're actually denying yourself something that could be enjoyable (Obama agreeing with you) and replacing it with this kind of thinly-veild, obsessive disgust you have towards him. It's a whole new you...I'll have to re-write.

p.s. That makes it what? 16? You're probalbly writing something as I'm typing so lets say 17 Obama posts in a day. I need to keep track....for the bar graphs.

So, again, by these criteria,
by tartuffe

there can be no doubt whatsoever that you're McSame's fiercest opponent.

Right?

Clinical study entirely appropriate!

Is it a dissertation? Somebody got a best-seller -- movie, too! (Sally Field's breakthrough role as a "serious" actress, in fact) -- out of Sybil, after all.
