(If you haven't read it, I recommend you do so; it's focused on one of the kids going through school with Ender, not like the other 'sequels'.)The idea behind the simulators is that the pilots are safe, but how many will end up with major mental problems after they come to understand the reality? How many are going to be treated even worse than society treats the Vietnam & Middle East vets that were physically there and are committing suicide in droves?
