Readability of bold text

While I agree with some of the points and I have read Nielsen's articles on best practices for web content, I'm not sure I agree with all of this article.

Given the narrow width (caused by adverts) and the stop-start nature of its readability (bold and links catching my eye a line or two before they should, forcing me to go back and re-read the last sentence to know what it was talking about) this article just seemed far too slow to read for the aim of its content.

Drawing attention to things can be a good thing, but overdoing it is just as bad as not providing pointers at all.
