The Enquirer is a force to be reckoned with in the world of legitimate sleaze; as with Drudge, the MSM has been obliged on several occasions to finally report an Enquirer scoop. The Jesse Jackson love-child, for instance, was not a figment of tabloid imagination. For some time now, the Enquirer has eschewed the Space-Alien/Satan/Hitler line of reportage (perfected by the now-defunct Weekly World News) in favor of straight-up celebrity sleaze, in the mold of its Diana 'n Dodi hounding European brethren. Look for the MSM to begrudgingly nibble at this story despite itself, especially in view of the Veepstakes. It's also quite possible that a ever progressive-protective MSM confimed the story some time ago, or at least conformed a basis to pursue confirmation, but sniffed at it being a "story" in the first place, unless and until a public groundswell ensued and they couldn't afford not to be in on whatever minimizing or diversionary spin will prove necessary for the good of the People. That's precisely what happened with the Reverend Wright story---when it broke big, the credulous examined the entrails of questionable auspices and "timing", when in fact the MSM had been furnished all the details months before but didn't (want to) consider it a "story". Until the YouTube snippets, of course......perhaps like the supposed photos of a bewildered Edwards hiding in bathrooms and stairwells at an L.A. hotel at 2:30 a.m......?
