Emily is right!
by A Dude

Oh yes, many of us are tired of listening to women blame their professional failures on sexism. There is nothing more aggravating than listening to a woman tearfully blame every bump in the road on sexism. I usually sat there in awkward silence, hoping they'd change the subject.

Meanwhile I was thinking, no, you failed because you made a mistake, or you blew it, or maybe you never were as smart or as good at your job as you expected. When men screw up we don't have that crutch to lean back on.

In one instance I had to listen to my own boss tearfully complain about how hard it was for a woman to get ahead professionally. Not sure what the problem was, as she was my boss, and her boss was a woman. Not real inspiring.

So please, unless you have actual concrete examples of how you were a victim of sexism, spare the rest of us.

No, but if they're of a minority group, they blame racism. I've heard those claims in the workplace more than sexism. Coming from men.

Guess what? It worked almost every time the guy said wa wa racism with no concrete examples given. Mgmt backs down in a hurry.

Cheer up, Dude!

If you're A white Dude, you could always blame affirmative action for your failures.

Look at that! We're moving ever-closer to true equality. Now everyone has something to whine about.

Hilarious (and I've really heard white dudes do this). Maybe whining in general is at an all-time high? At least it is in some of the places I've worked...
