McCain is the real slim shady
by ncwebguy

Forget Marshall Mathers, John McCain's "straight talk express" is anything but.

When McCain says something, you can take him at his word? Like when he was against the Bush tax cuts, right? Yes, take him at his word, until his word changes to "Eh, we need to make them permanent!"

Or drilling in the continental shelf. One day McCain is saying it won't make much of a difference to make it worthwhile, yet now he's changed his tune to Drill Drill Drill.

And where does "Gas prices? Blame Obama" come from? How "straight" is that? Has McCain answered "how will we build and repair roads when we suspend the federal gas tax?" Didn't think so. To say nothing of how underfunded the federal highway fund is going to be due to lower collections from the existing tax. How shady is that?

McCain's problem is that when it comes to domestic and economic issues, he has no particular beliefs of any kind. I'm sure he's a man of his principles, and when it comes to national security he has some. But on domestic issues he just blows in the wind because he really doesn't care, and hasn't thought five minutes about it.
