How to attack Obama
by GreenwichJ

1) "Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little
blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though."

So wrote Obama in one of his books. The political class knows about this and is cool with it. Middle America does not, and probably is not.

2) Keep up the exotic import motif. Obama's about as American as beef stroganoff.

3) Get to the bottom of this Nadhmi Auchi thing. Might be nothing, but you never know.

Beware the Scary Black Man!

In other words, play up the "he's not like us" card.

Disgusting.

John McCain has also admitted extensive drug use, while cheating on his first wife. Of course while Conservatives will cite Barak Obama's admission as a reason for not voting for him, not one of them will apply that standard to John McCain.

Of course not, for the same reason that Bush's going AWOL from the National Guard wasn't a big deal to them, but they had to constantly villify Kerry's legitimate and decorated service.

You were Bush's commanding officer in the ANG?

Interesting.

If by that you mean the one who said Bush never showed up in Alabama, then no.

But please, tell me how that disproves my point.

I don’t think anyone is gonna care about Obama’s drug use. It is pointless anyway and many people in “middle” America have used their fair share of drugs too. The only relevant part is whether he is using drugs now, which doesn’t seem to be the case. I don’t want to see Obama win the election but not because of the issues listed. I think Obama should be attacked in terms of his stance on Iraq (not supporting the surge) and his political philosophy not because he used cocaine when he was young or because he “seems” different or out of touch. For one thing, the drug use just plays into his hands makes him look “cool” and actually more like us, because lets face it, who hasn’t smoked a little weed or done some blow at some point in their lives? I usually agree with you Greenwich, but going after him on these things is a sure fire way to loose.

It's not up to you to decide whether Bush was AWOL-- that would be up to his CO.

Imagine the attack ads
by GreenwichJ

Screening at dinner time: A middle-American mom finds her daughter with a bag of weed and some cocaine. Daughter replies: "It's just a little pot, a little blow. It's not like it's smack..."

Running with the surge is not smart for McCain. If Obama's clever (and he is), he would respond that the "surge" merely corrected the disastrous decision by the Republicans not to commit enough troops to Iraq in 2003, a decision Obama could argue cost the lives of thousands of US soldiers over four years. Did McCain argue early on that the US wasn't committing enough troops? If so I don't remember it.

Back on the drugs thing: it doesn't bother me in the slightest, but you'd be surprised how many people, especially parents, it would bother. Portraying John Kerry as a strange, windsurfing elitists worked well at the last election, and a similar line of attack could hurt Obama.

I'm put in mind of my friend's then-14-year-old daughter explaining to her father, in the exasperated tones teenagers reserve for their hopelessly-stupid parents, that the blowjobs she doled out to older guys in exchange for rides weren't sex: "the President even said so."

You mean the one that said he never showed up, right?

Quote him saying so. Cite your source.

Great idea, Loser!

Yeah, I'm sure McCain would love to bring up the issue of drug abuse. Then we could talk about how his 2nd wife (the one he cheated on his first wife with) was a drug addict who stole prescription pain killers from a CHARITY to feed her addiction. She then used her money and influence to avoid criminal prosecution. Yeah, let's talk about drug abuse! Great idea! I love talking about this issue! Cindy McCain = pill popping thief!!

How is that a reason not to want someone to be President. McCain here-to-fore has supported every failed policy that the Bush Administration has forced on the American peopl;e, but McCain '08!

Please people let's focus on giving America back to the people not the corporations and the cronies that have bankrupted our great nation, literally and figuratively!

Since the technical employment of Google exceeds your skill level, I've taken the opportunity to find you but one of many different copies of the exact same documentation.
