Why are people posting if they don't like Starbucks??

Is there no Britney Spears story to comment on?? I like the coffee there and not every town has a Starbucks on every corner or pass by one everyday. Going out of your way for a coffee is a pain. But if you don't like the coffee and don't care if the stores close down....why comment?? If your local dollar store closes I won't comment " Who cares?? They suck!!"

People are writing because of Slate's presumption that all of us would actually care.

How many people have actually written in to talk about how they will deal with this life-altering event? Not many? Maybe that's one of the reasons the stores are closing.

LOL I think you DO care! Writing out your own LONG post and commenting on other post.....did that Starbucks manager really hurt you that bad?? OMG..someone was RUDE to you. Did you let him know that you're from Seattle? Wow...I have to stop reading post and remember that people are freaks.

I live in North Carolina.. we are losing a Starbucks, the only one in the Triangle area that is closing.

And it should close. It was moronic to put one there. Not only is it in a rural area where most people are not going to pay that much for a deluxe coffee.. and with a McCafe moving in nearby.. it is the SAME FREAKIN PARKING LOT AS ANOTHER STARBUCKS!!!!

It was some sick joke from the beginning. Starbucks has become its own satire.

So true. I was recently walking in NYC and passed a Starbucks about 1/2 way down a city block. I turned the corner and there was another Starbucks on the same block, just around the corner. When I reached the next block, not more than a couple hundred feet further, there was another Starbucks. I walked 10 blocks that day, mostly in a straight line, and must have passed 8 Starbucks. It was starting to creep me out.

Yes, but how many of those NYC Starbucks were crowded?

I bet all of them

6 NYC Starbucks are closing. That's not counting the number that are struggling, or breaking even, or with moderate business that might pick up when others in the area close.

So, no.. not all of them were crowded.
