9-11 changed Everything
by MayaPinion

Six years later, and asked countless times, the Bush crew still demures when asked to explain specifically what this mantra really means.

I think I finally get it.

Some guys who look like some other guys who live "over there" flew planes into buildings. It was embarrassing to Bush - it looked weak to be sittin on your ass doin nothin and get whacked by people who came from roughly the geographic area where your daddy fought a war.

Bush was surrounded by all the macho guys who wanted BushDaddy to go get Saddam, but BushDaddy listened to "them sissies."

Afghanistan was too easy to attack and subdue - initially. More military fireworks were needed for US TV. The military opperation in Afghanistan did not FEEL to "w" like enough "Uumph" to salve his sense of payback. More guys that looked like the guys who flew into building had to be "ass booted."

Dick Cheney has been asked numerous times, poit black: "you gave your analysis after the first Gulf War and you listed the bad things that may have come about if we attacked Iraq. Why/When did you change your mind?"

"9-11 changed everything."

"Can you say, specifically how?"

"It just did."

---------

My redneck brother-in-law says that he knows exactly what Cheney meant. We had to "DO SOMETHING" and it had to be "AS BIG AS 0-11."

It was a sort of Biblical necessity. Eye for an Eye.

Question is: Who has lost the most eyes now?

Do I take it then, that you won't be voting for McCain?

Well, considering that it now looks like President Obama will be able to implement his withdrawal without it being viewed as us being run out of eye-rak by the mullah's, I'd say the bad guys have. I know that displeases you as you wish America would lose the "most eyes" because that makes Bush look bad (and you wonder why we say Obama would rather lose the war and win the election)...
Really? Is that what I said?
by MayaPinion
because I thought I was criticizing the judgement of those who supported a wrong policy for so long. ...because we do not want those folks to retain the presidency.
SUre it did, it made us more like the "enemy"
by mercurial1
which is why collectively speaking, we've killed and displaced millions of Iraqis over nothing, and without shedding a collective tear.
Embarrassing???? you twit shit fool
by Abused

3,000 Americans died on that day.....It is way beyond embarrassing....

clinton should hang his head in shame because thos people you talk about......were training and planning under his nasty ass watch. but clinton was more interested in playing "rape" with all the ladies.....

Yes I know what you said - winning in Iraq is the wrong policy. I don't see why this is so difficult for you to comprehend...

Fighting terrorist that killed well over 3,000 Americans is not the wrong policy. doing nothing and having no backbone is a wrong policy.
...9/11 was Clinton's fault??? If you can recall...
by Figjam
...it happened on bush's watch, bush was warned and took no action. The shame is on le pet boosh...
I think it means
by Horus

...that the far Right got a whole new set of excuses for instituting endless wars abroad, bolstering the "defense" budget drastically, and instituting a 'security state' here at home.

IOW, the terrorists gave American fascism a new lease on life...

..and for that, they deserve even MORE condemnation.

What's foolish
by Horus

..is your childish partisan attempt to blame 9/11 on Clinton AFTER you've stood up and ranted and raved about how terrible 9/11 was.

You are one sick lying bitch...

Now it's "well over" 3000
by Craig
"Americans"? These nations also lost citizens...To avenge the horror, we have lost 4,125 US soldiers and an additional 1,000+ "contractors"...just about doubling our losses. I laugh at the once again raised canard of "doing nothing"...as the only alternative to fighting a monumentally disastrous ground war....

"Mullahs" don't run Iraq, and we'd have left regardless. Obama just wants to do that sooner rather than later, because he's not as hung up on "proclaiming victory" as are Bush and McSame.

I'd say the bad guys have.

Which "bad guys," since Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11?

I know that displeases you as you wish America would lose the "most eyes" because that makes Bush look bad

..a slanderous lie, typical of Neocon Bushies...

(and you wonder why we say Obama would rather lose the war and win the election)...

I don't wonder, I'm calling it outright slander. If you endorse it, you're a lying fuckwad.
