This year, according to at least one other local television station, they are also offering $10 for any "replica" gun or BB gun. If you look over the list of turn-in points and know the Windy City, you'll notice that there are none in any predominately White ethnic, Spanish speaking, or Asian populated areas...they are all in black neighborhoods.

Anybody think this is sound government policy by the local "community organizers"?

As usual, I end up laughing after I research your complaints and concerns. I knew about buy backs...and I knew about a local legislator who took quite a bit of guff for sponsoring similar legislation a few years ago...then I did some research.

These buy backs, both "regular" and toy are tools usually requested by law enforcement officers. Cities and small towns all over the nation have had them...Dallas. Newport News. Annapolis. They are quite popular in Chicagoland. Evanston had one in '98...

Cleveland is also hosted one last November...with McDonald's Gift Certificates as the bait.

And there was also a recent one in Springfield, MA...AND Springfield IL...the town where Obama actually "grew his political bones"...
