How many stupid mistakes can one man make and still run for
by MasterJay

President ?

The foreign policy expert who has no idea where any of the nations are,who borders whom...

The "instigator and supporter of the surge"...who says it's a success because of something that happened over a year before the surge started...

The follower of the economic policy of the great Phil Gramm...who will still offer him a position in his administration...after Gramm said the recession was imaginary, and those complaining about it were "whiners"...please point out to me how that was less insulting than those folks who"cling to guns and religion" ?

Will this be another Johnson/Goldwater ?

Surely no one can support John McCain except for the 20 some % who still support Bush ?

As many as possible, because he's a Republican. Would it surprise you if he picked Dick Cheney (the real current president) to be HIS VP????

Quick MJ, from memory, which states border California?

Could you remember them in 10 seconds or less?

Could you do it while under national scrutiny? How about Colorado? Kentucky?

Yes I know, a presidential candidate should know everything, letter perfect, about every issue of every constituent they might ever possibly have to deal with.

Man up and quit whining about insignificant trivia. Both candidates have made gaffes that seem ridiculous in hindsight (57 states anyone?) but given the pressure and scrutiny they are under I don't think it unreasonable that it happen now and then. (If you really want to compare johnsons, it's my contention that to not know how many states are in one's own nation is a MUCH bigger screwup than to make a mistake on foreign geography...)

Actually I'm not sure what keeps you so rattled, but when Gram made that statement he was right, there was not two consecutive quarters on negative growth. The last quarter saw growth, albeit very minimal, it was officially correct.

As for the nation of whiners, well, you are walking proof this is probably right also.

MasterJay also believes there are 57 States in the USA.

lol

If I were running for President as THE Security expert

I'd know where Iraq,Iran,Afghanistan where...so would you.

This guy is getting a free ride.

If I were running for President as A US CITIZEN.
by Boss Greer
I'd know how many states we have. Who's getting the free ride again?

Oregon, Nevada, Arizona.

Been there, seen that. So has McCain been to Iraq - - should have known better.

I'm not disagreeing, I'm saying it's a trivial slip. I'm also giving Obama the same benefit of the doubt.

That's what's so damn unfair. Obama doesn't need the benefit of your doubt, he has the benefit of no one ever saying "that's a fuck-up, Obama". What happens is Obama gets tired after all those long days and talking his legs off; a benefit McCain is not entitled to.

This is Liberal Democracy.

the bad thing is this cover up got left on the CBS cutting room floor....and if the other networks hadn't read the transcripts,Meredith wasn't showing the question.
Look at all the stupid mistakes bush made
by americaislost

in his first term and he got reelected. He can't speak properly, he doesn't know English grammar and he is a fuck-en idiot. Yet the general public may be is maybe just as ignorant because they still voted for this shit-head.a second time.

Re: How many stupid mistakes can one man make and still run for

Please don't lump me in with "all liberals." If Obama screws up, then he should be called on it, too. 57 states is a little out of the ballpark, and a stupid comment to make. If they are tired, they should take a rest, just like sane people do when they know they're getting worn out.

Re: How many stupid mistakes can one man make and still run for

When i heard Obama's statement I thought he said " 50 sovereign" states, and after everybody had a fit, went back on a clip, and he sure DID say 57 states.

He also thought Czechoslovakia was still a country, I'm told it broke up about ten years ago.
