I can only think of one serious attempt to even bring up ANWAR during the last eight years.
And, as I pointed out, the oil men gladly traded the drilling leases for a fat package of tax credits and subsidies.
You can blow your ANWAR smoke screen out your ass.
There is no statistic anywhere that even hints that ANWAR, even if fully developed, would have a significant impact on supplies or prices.
Moreover, the price needs to be as high as it is now to make drilling there profitable.
So, your argment that ANWAR will lower oil prices fails the test on two counts.
We all know who to blame for high oil prices.
We know who Big?Oil's bitches are, George Bush and Dick Cheney, bought and paid for from day one.
IT was Bush who declared that he was going to use his special relationship with the Saudis to insure abundant and cheap oil.
When he said that, oil was $28 per barrel.
Look at it now.
And what did the Saudis do? They told Bush that he should go home and shut up, they weren't going to reward him for eight years of reckless and disasterous failure in their back yard.
The spectacle of the President of the United States flying to Saudi Arabia to beg them to increase production is, in itself, a clear indication of just how much political capital this president has pissed away.
Its especially humiliating for the President of the United States to have to go and beg like that since those same Saudis turned down an invitation for a State visit to Washington in 2006.
IT's clear that the Saudis have no respect at all for Bush (who does?)
