Why do liberals pimp the charade that McCain’s military career was 5 years long? He went into the military in the 50s and stayed until the 80’s…McCain has been in the House & Senate for over 25 years. There is much more to McCain when we speak of experience and military career, besides the 5 years he was held captive. McCain has dedicated his entire life to serving this country.

Being a clown in the academy does not diminish the rest of his career or his life.

McCain requested combat assignments, that speaks volumes for his character.

I love how fraylib totally omits what he did when he was returned home as well. He became a commanding officer of a training squadron …Which was awarded the The Meritorious Unit Commendation under his command, something given for outstanding service. In addition to; (not because) the man has 17 military awards and decorations- for his military career for before, during, and after he was a POW

All those things qualify him as a President, NOT just the fact he was a POW. None the less McCain is an American Hero. His 50 years of dedication to this country earned him that respect.

What can I say........ most of them ( though not all of them) are doing their best to downplay the fact that McCain is a veteran and actually has experience...............while their candidate has absolutely none of that sort of thing.

If you remember correctly I didn't bash Kerry's service. I don't go there with any vet...I never joined in on the fake vet shit against you either. I'm a military brat Kerry served this country, I respect that. I don't necessarily agree with the things he said about his fellow soldiers but that's between them. If other vets were hurt by it, it's their right to feel that way. I don't wear a uniform...who am I to judge the whole swift boating concept.

You hear it all the time sed with their accusations that being a POW doesn't make him qualified to be President. Who said it did? Then there's the "being in the military doesn't make you qualified" what I am saying is, it's his 50+ years he’s dedicated his life to serving this country in many different forms. You see them constantly in here talking about his time in the academy as well...like that's what we should base his entire military career on. “He was a lousy cadet” ….etc etc….Don't be obtuse, it's not fitting of you.
