As a conservative, I would say we have more to gain from an Obama win than a McCain win.
If Obama wins, and it appears he will, he'll get a Democrat Congress and a blank check. His stated fiscal policies include huge tax increases, huge increases in government entitlements and no deficit reductions.
Four years of that will, hopefully, sour Americans on liberal spending policies and a true, fiscal conservative could arise from the ashes of the Republican party to lead us back to economic stability.
A McCain win, on the other hand, would be a stop-gap measure to keep the aforementioned Democrat Congress from spending tax money like water. Provided he kept his promise about cutting wasteful spending and swift vetos of pork-laden bills.
But, in the end, an exciting, vigorous young man with an outlook we haven't seen in a while (regardless of his lack of experience) will kill a tired old man with the same-old, same-old mindset.
So, to all my fellow Conservatives I say "Hang on..it's going to be a bumpy ride."
