Blind Hindsight and VAST Hypocrisy

Its astonishing that while you thrill over the slaughtering of one million Iraqis and making 4.5 million of them refugees abroad or at home you have the nerve to complain about a multiple choice test!

Such is the pedantic and brutish nature of the right wing mind, I guess.

But on your complaint, until very recently, around 200 years actually, Christians considered all "non believers" evil as well...the words hate were not exactly fashionable, but "heathen" and similar words were used and to justify mass slaughter, not to mention slavery and other such things...lole pogroms, and, well, lots of burnings of witches (alive).

It was Americans, and our capitalism/democracy which wiped out such fuedal stupidities, not philanthropy.

P.S. The Bible says: "Ye shall know them [Christians] by their acts."

Who is the person you're addressing, who "thrill[s]" over a million Iraqis deaths? Perhaps you should take this up with Ray Bolger directly.

I live about 50 miles south of a little Massachusetts village that became infamous for its injustices against citizenry accused of heresy, witchcraft, or other "crimes against the Lord"... Pogroms, witch trials, inquisitions, final solutions, beheadings, sharia law... Ain't the human race a fun bunch...

If we as a nation are ever going to help exact any sort of reduction/elimination of the hate-mongering that comes out of these primitive tribal cultures (and yes, that is what they are!), then we are going to have to put a squeeze on the most effective part of their anatomy... their wallets!

Let them live for just one year without the massive oil dollars our nations pour into their pockets. Cash is speech. Without it, it's that much more difficult to be heard. Watch Saudi prices go sky high. See the Madrassas start to close because they cannot afford to pay the teachers that spew such garbage. Suddenly, they will see that the US is not quite the great Satan imagined.

On Day 366, they will be begging us to purchase their crude at 50 cents a barrel, just so they can feed their starving children.

Boo hoo. Cry me a river...

Where can you possibly be getting your numbers from? Pulling statistics out of the air doesn't really further your argument.

While it may be true that Christianity has a bloody past, how does that possibly justify anything that Muslims are doing today?

The subject line of your post certainly does a fine job of summing up its contents.

Candoxx doesn't have any meaningful statistics, and probably believes that if it repeats some astronomical number enough times, and gets enough people to do so as well, then those numbers will find purchase in the collective imagination.

There aren't but 30 million Iraqis. Anyone who believes that 1 of every 30 Iraqis has been killed in the last five years needs serious medication.

Teaching children to hate others is wrong. Period.

I wasn't going to argue the numbers, but you're right. Estimates of civilian deaths are controversial and vary widely, but there are none anywhere near a million.

I don't see that point as relevant, though because these textbooks predate both Gulf Wars. No matter how many civilian deaths there have been, I have not found one person "thrilling to" them, whatever the precise meaning of that phrase may be.
