I agree - there is no reason to get into debates with people who absolutely believe they are right based on no evidence in support of their beliefs.

I really don't see a point to believing biology is everything. To get any further however, spirit must be identified as something.

Is Evolution a scientific fact? I was not aware that it has been elevated to "fact" from its status as a "theory." Do we actually even care about the distinctions between theory and fact anymore?

By the way, I am not a creationist nor an Intelligent Designer. I simply do not know the evidence that supports evolution. I am an evolution agnostic if you will. That being said, I think it would be interesting to see Nike debate somebody on this issue without attacking the person.

The 'theory' of gravity may only be a theory, but it's well grounded. It carries weight. It's accepted heavily.

If you wait for something to be proven 100% true before calling it 'fact' and using it to make a decision, you will be frozen forever.

Conversely, lots of theories opposed to gravity have been floated, but they all required a significant suspension of disbelief and tended to drift away from the mainstream.

Sigh A process is not a "fact". That the earth is round is an observable fact. ....Darwin's theory of evolution is how evolution, which has been observed in the earth's history and at work to this day, operates.

It is astounding how many nitwitw offer this tired claim about "theory" when the topic of evolution comes up.

Question: is Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity "just" a theory, or is it confirmed by observation and experiment?
