middleview:depends on how much of the clip you saw. When the video clip includes a 360 of the gym it shows the whole crowd. If you only saw the side closest to Obama it might have looked like there were a lot of blacks....
You originally posted in a manner that made it sound like more sour grapes over the press.
That is why I brought up Andrea Mitchells gripe about not being allowed to interview the troops.
The refusal or demurral to not allow the troops to be interviewed by mainstream press is one issue, and it's a good one. However, the concern of my posts has to do with what was shown.
It's entirely within the realm of probability that what you said is true. If so, then it smacks of deceit and propaganda. It also smacks of Karl Rove.
Remember in the 2000 and 2004 Republican presidential campaigns, whenever Dubya had a speaking venue, the arenas or sportsdomes or whatever were packed full of Dubya groupies, and anyone with a dissenting view was refused entry? In order to make it look like everyone was on the same page with Fearless Loser, thousands cheer; the multitudes clamor at the gate. Looking ever so much like some Leni Riefenstahl ode to Fascism, or some Stalinist edit of the happy proles.
So, is this the Obama campaign imitating what works? If the recipe calls for leaving the truth on the cutting-room floor, is the end result justifiable, to win through suppression? Does this make Obama more like Dubya?
Why not interview the troops to see how they really feel, and not just the ones who got anointed to actually be in that gym, but ALL of them?
Obama is not to be trusted. Remember, liberals, when the gods mean to punish you, they give you what you want.
