Heath Ledger did make this the best Batman movie of all time. The deeply psycotic rants of the Joker and how he got his scars, the fact that he has no know identity other than "The Joke" put the audience wanting to see more, to learn more. Who is this person and where did he come from. You get teased through out the movie with a computerized reconstruction of a bullet to get a finger print and then the capture of the joker that yeilds no know identitiy. Christopher Nolan has done it again with the return of most of the cast from "Batman Begins", He takes us to a darker side of the comic. Without giving away who does dies and yes a main charecter dies in the middle of this film, it brings "reality" to the picture in that it does not keep movie magic, this is not a superman or spiderman movie where the hero is able to save everyone all the time. The critic left one thing out in the review, not all of the guys in the bank get shot in the back of the head, one gets run over or backed over by a bus. The bank manager did not make out very well either.
