SD Abortion law
by marcparis

Would that a brave woman and a brave physician adopted this strategy. I don't see it happening.

But a question for William Saletan, more on the legal legal aspects. The law requires physicians to make this declaration. What if they say it in a silly voice? What if they preface it by declaring that it's total BS imposed by reactionary legislators, and that its content is untrue scientifically and philosophically? Is the legislature then going to ban doctors from saying this? Will all medical offices be required to have listening devices installed so that the State Person-Killing Interdiction Board can listen in? Will abortions have to be carried out in the State Capitol building? Would the rotunda make for a good operating theater?

Very good question. That's exactly the (real) legal test I'm waiting for. It's what I'd do if I were the doctor.
