How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth
by Urquhart

It is to have an ungrateful child . . .

The difference between a time horizon and a timeline is easy. A time horizon is too vague to be meaningful, and a timeline is too specific to be achieved.

I'm all in favor of honoring the wishes of a friendly sovereign gummint. If those are indeed Maliki's wishes. Troop withdrawal is a difficult process to reverse. It's not as if he'll be able to summon us later. Better be sure, as the Jack Nicholson Joker would say.

yeah! al maliki is probably French!

imagine the gall (gaul?) for this guy to actually think that being sovereign means never having to say you're sorry. but then again 16 months does seem about right, huh?

Did you see it?

Just got back.

The film didn't disappoint, but I really want to see it again on Imax.

Haven't Yet, Damn Your Eyes!
by Urquhart

Apparently, film critics everywhere are forced to add extra stars to fully express their orgasms.

My prediction about Two-Face seems to have gone down the toilet. Can there be a third film after this?

But man, oh, man, I'm so looking forward. Probably tomorrow.

Amazing Number of Villain Tributes
by Urquhart

On Youtube. For Batman: The Animated Series.

And a really amazing number of tributes to Harley Quinn. May appeal to your feminist streak.

My son and his dad went to see it yesterday while poor mom went to slave at work as usual<smile>.

My son LOVED It! And it lived up to all the hype well. He's a big comic books wonk anyway. He said Heath Ledger's Joker was better than Jack Nicholson's because he thinks Nicholson's was too ego centric compared to Ledger's Joker who was more of a complex pure evil type.

The kids like Ledger of course..but I have heard Heath allowed himself to get so deep into that role that it disturbed his own sense of balance for time afterwards. It was a tragic shame about losing him as a great and rising star.

When You Have Seen It

let us know. I'm hoping you can explain the Scarecrow callback to my satisfaction, it's been niggling at my noggin ever since -- so curious, so inconsequential.

The Scarecrow Came Back?
by Urquhart

Still haven't seen the film. I predicted that based on two data points. First, he didn't die at the end of the last film. Second, there was that Comcast ad about fear toxin.

Also, it was a really good team, the Joker and the Scarecrow. With a clear leader and follower. The Scarecrow gassed the Joker at one point. Guess how that went.

I can't speak to the dramatic rationale of a Scarecrow revival as of yet. I can only treat you to a Scarecrow tribute.

Mea Maxima Culpa

I should have posted a spoiler warning for you, though it's a pretty trivial spoil. The film kicks several many asses, but the Scarecrow angle is really just a curious blip.
