I do not agree with any of the attacks on Vets, POWs or McSame's capture. I believe until you are in their position you cannot know what you might do to survive. I do not believe being captured makes you a failure, but I also do not believe it, in and of itself, makes you a hero or qualifies you as a candidate for President.
McSame is the less qualified and less intelligent of the two candidates we have to chose from. He is too old, he has too much temper, he is not, frankly, smart enough to put us back on firm footing as a nation.
I see this election as an opportunity to try and make America a country the world looks up to instead of fears once again. I want to see us as a nation trying to improve the world, not tear it down, or dominate it, or impose our ways on cultures much older than our own.
Bottom line as I see it, there are many reasons to elect Sen. Obama as our President but just as many not to define McSame as a coward or failure simply due to his having been captured, or even what he did as a prisoner to survive. He didn't put another POW in line of death or more pain in his actions whatever they were in fact (not what they were in the minds of those solely intent on defeating him).
