I don't feel sorry for her at all. She's obviously very wealthy, charitable, and has worked hard to beat her demons. No one's spouse is perfect. And she could certainly do a lot worse than John McCain. What's to feel sorry for?

I agree with you. It takes great strength to endure the criticism, the 24 hour presence of the media and the parsing of every syllable a first lady utters. Cindy McCain couldn't cope with the pressures of senator's wife when she exiled herself to Arizona. I seriously question whether she has the forebearance to handle 4 years in the White House. In recent history, a stronger woman than her, Betty Ford, crumbled under the pressure.
