Wives are fair game
by Jeff

I don't think Cindy and Michelle should have it both ways. You can't give speeches on the trail and speak at the convention and then hide behind "civilian" status when people criticize you. First ladies have been analyzed for centuries and how they have impacted the decision of the president. Hillary Clinton was called the co-president. There were some articles that said Laura Bush had worked behind the scenes to get rid of people in Bush's second term.

If you are like Dean's wife where you really didn't get involved at all, then I think it would be wrong to be critical. If they are involved, they are fair game to be critcized and defended.

So, it'd be fair to ask Cindy if she thought it was moral to be sleeping with, and later steal away from his injured wife, a married man?
Even Stepford Wives?

I don't think Laura Bushie had a thing to day to day operations around the WH in past 7.5 years Jeff.

If she had, something might have gone right.

But i agree with you. Sindy needs to agree now to recuse herself from her beer business if Grandpa wins.

As I recall, the lefties used to sqwuak about how Nancy Reagan's interest in horoscopes and astrology was somehow going to influence her husbands decisions on nuclear manuevers.....
Hey coward liar, ready to say you made a

mistake? No? Show me a single post where I rated myself as you so boldly posted yesterday. Come on coward.
Lol..

I'd have preferred to have trusted a good Astrology reading than whatever Bushie thinks God told him about invading Iraq.

Whereas Michelle Obama has been subjected to maligning as a black activist, which is untrue, if Democrats, say Olbermann, made nightly attacks on Cindy McCain for her drug abuse and theft of those drugs from her own charity, all true, that would be fair?
Sure, but keep it fair

Sleazy personal attacks and extreme vulgarities should be off-limits, likewise attacks on the kids. Too many out there just want to hate, not deal with issues.

I think that the old notion of the First Lady/candidate's wife who sits around, looks pretty, and serves as Hostess is pretty much a thing of the past.

Hell, even Wilson's wife pretty much finished out his second term after he was incapacitated. And how could FDR have managed without Eleanor?

It's a partnership.

...maybe yes, maybe no...but seriously...

...who in their right mind bases their vote for President of the United States based on the candidates spouse?

I find all the critical comments and other drivil surrounding either of this women as absurd. Neither of these women will influence my vote in November.

"Sarge's" usual selective memory at work
by Horus

ONLY Republican wives get unfair treatment, and ONLY Dem wives get a pass from the MSM. Right, "Sarge?"

LOL (shaking head)

whatever...have fun.
by LibbyLouWho

could we see cindy and michelle debate? THAT would be a hoot......

poor cindy wouldn't stand a chance.

Fair or not,

they're game.
somehow, i don't think cindy

I never said that criticism of Reagan via his wifes personal life was unfair. Unfounded and unfair are two different things. I don't think Michele Obama is a black militant nutcase, I just think she is a self absorbed jerk. Doesnt affect my views of Obama. I've always liked John McCain and Obama is a far lefty masquerading as someone who wants to be bipartisan. McCain has a record of bipartisanship, Obama doesnt.
