In a way, I feel sorry for McCain...
by Reptilicus
You know it's got to be a LITTLE depressing, knowing that most of your "support" is simply fear and hatred of your opponent, and you're just the "default" choice.

Works both ways. McCain gets support because he isn't Obama, Barry bin Barack gets support because he's not a Republican. Worst choices since 1980.

But tsedek that's supporting the opposing politic....McCain "bad" on global warming, stem cells, affirmative action, campaign finance....

but his "supporters" have no choice (unless they want to keep their principles, and vote Barr or Baldwin).

Plus, most of Obama's supporters LIKE him...not so much on McCain's side.

Fuck him and everybody that looks like him

Besides, from the look of him I'd say the senile old prick has no idea what's going on most of the time, so I doubt he's upset about being strongly disliked by his own backers.

Worst choices since 1980.

I don't agree with that.

And certainly the Republicans had nobody better in 2008 - granted that may not be saying much.

If these are the worst choices compared to other elections, that says more about the times we face than the candidates themselves.

It's a much better choice than we had in 2004.

What does it say about your messiah that he only gets 45-48% in the polls in which the fundamentals overwhelmingly favor him?

And that probably overstates it (for good or ill). The "Bradley Effect..."

True, dat
by Horus

And being the 'default' isn't gonna get him enough Rightie support to win, let's face it. he's made too many enemies on the wackjob Right to get them to trundle out to the polls for him.

Alas, poor John...:)

....could end up being Obama's VP

Ok, probably not.

LOL! THAT (and a few more moderate "repositionings" by Obama) would get me to reconsider my support for McCain...
