From Shiksah to Feeling Like a Coward
by Lola
I am not shiksah, only look like one. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't. I have heard many antisemitic remarks at work in the liberal Silicon Valley - never mentioned in one sentence with the certain man who died at tender age of 33. I can't even count what we were accused for - from the lack of the piece on earth to the Hollywood decline and the NY Times conservative slant. I haven't come out yet and I seriously doubt I will ever do.

I second that.

"I am not shiksah, only look like one. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't. I have heard many antisemitic remarks at work in the liberal Silicon Valley "

The writer is simply saying that she looks like a non-Jewish woman, and therefore her coworkers feel free to spew their antisemitic remarks around her.

Her use of the discription "liberal Silicon Valley" is a bit unclear. The speakers are neither liberal nor conservative: They are jackasses (with apologies to the four-legged kind).

For a jew, you don't seem to be able to write very well.

Well, you missed the part then where she said she isn't one, only looks like one.

That is the only part of her post that makes any sense.

it's "never mentioned in one sentence" that I don't understand (I assume the 33 yr old is Hitler?) and also "I haven't come out yet." Come out about not being Jewish?

I think a.) passes for Jewish + b.) works in technology + c.) awkward English = this person is probably from abroad

Which makes it doubly embarrassing that they're hearing that kind of stuff. Seriously, I though that went out of style with Henry Ford.

What? The 33 year old = JESUS!

Shiksah = Gentile woman (poster is Jewish but doesn't look like she is.)

Colleagues make stupid remarks in front of her. She has not yet told them she is Jewish.

Except that you missed the part where she was actually saying the opposite.

I'd expect better writing from a Jew.

we don't expect better punchlines from you, so we're all even.

I'm not sure her examples of "anti-Semitism" actually constitute as any legitimate anti-Semitism.

"The decline of Hollywood" argument especially makes little sense. Jews have had a very disproportionate role in creating Hollywood and shaping it since its inception. To say that they "infiltrated" Hollywood and have ruined it is completely irrational. But I would hardly call it anti-Semitic.

The more I think about it, this just sounds like a troubled woman who has difficulties accepting her own Judaism and being secure with herself, which is a real shame. The fact that she's using the term "shiksa" (which is a Jewish hate slur meaning 'abomination' or 'unpure') I think says a lot, here. It just sounds like she's some sort of ardent Zionist who is upset when her friends criticize Israel's policies and attributes this to anti-Semitism.

Obviously no one should take this post seriously.

I hang the decline of Hollywood
by its yggy
on the Belgians.

It's appalling what people will say when they think they are with their "us" instead of with their "them." For instance, there was a Korean kid who graduated with my daughter. One day in their Sunday school class, the hoity toity kids of the church were spewing all their venom about Asians, and as she was about to say something, in walked the Korean kid. They all immediately switched to "Oh HI John!!! We're so GLAD to see you!!!"

Hubby has been to a barber shop run by blacks who told him "We don't serve your kind" as well as an Asian restaurant which told him the same thing. So it's not specific to any group. At least the ones my husband dealt with were being honest, and not pretending to be a friend.

this jew will take a stab at it...

she is a jew that looks like a goy (a gentile/non-jew)

33 yr old = Jesus and i believe she's aluding to the fact the Jews were blamed for his death.

Piece on earth should be Peace on Earth (ie Israel and the Jews are the reason there is no peace on earth)

i guess the hollywood comment is because Jews run hollywood (which is true, we do)

never coming out - she'll never tell these anti-semites she's a jew.
