by RScommon

This Bush economy destroying everything in sight. Map of closings.

Some tunes to whilst you contemplate the closures.

LOL... Bush killed Starbucks?

Why aren't you guys cheering the destruction of "Big Coffee"?

Does this mean you would feel remorse if the largest employer in USA (Walmart) went belly up?

I wouldn't mind seeing Starbucks, and Wal-Mart go under. Both are worthless to me, and people should brew their own coffee bought at the local super market......

Actually, Starbucks has been hit hard by competition from McDonald's.

Nice try, RS.

No one will ever confuse you for being a liberal. Even your corporate fascist gods are taking a beating under the Bush admin. McCain offers more of the same. Any bets he can't break 10 million in October in fund raising? Everyone and their dog is jumping off the McCain bandwagon. For good reason. Your Starbucks stock just tanked.

Lordy...

So.. you don't believe in the value of "volume purchasing power"?

Interesting... but not a sound business conviction

While I think Mom & Pop stores are quaint, I guess I need to remind people that Walmart was also once a Mom&Pop store as well... I've been to Store1 in Bentonville and had burgers next door to it.

Look at it... (seem familiar?). Why is it we associate success with evil?

So... if the next Mom&Pop enterprise becomes nationally successful, should we demand they stop in the name of quaintness?

Who can afford that two dollar cup of Joe? No one. Shut them all down. Good riddance.

When Sam Walton founded Wal-Mart it was a good thing, and he did a lot with it when he was alive, but since his death in 1992 Wal-Mart has become another K-Mart, and I bet Sam is rolling over in his grave!

Hopefully you buy some Chinese coffee tainted with lead and guzzle it? It could raise your IQ! Good luck on your investment!

This is where we do agree...

If you remember, Sam was very into America 1st and one of the mantras were banners in stores about items that were "Made in America"... David (who followed him) went into the cheaper is neater philosophy and headed deep into Asia.

Now the "Made in America" banners themselves are produced in Thailand

Hope to see you soon at Micky D's!
Re: Busting up a Starbucks

Apparently lots of people can. How else would they stay in business?
