Victoria's secret is not in the underwear business
by Freki

They sell LINGERIE.

That is defined specifically as women's undergarments designed to be visually appealing or erotic. In other words, "sexy". They don't make their money selling granny-panties, and if you want plain cotton bras, go to Target.

Why would anyone object to a super-low-cut, push up bra being described as "Very Sexy" in an ad? That is after all the point of that bra, not comfort.

I would not go to the Nike Athletic Shoes store looking for cute strappy sandals.

Why would you object to a teenager wearing a hoodie that says "Pink" all over it? Because the same brand also makes lacy panties? Should I refuse to eat Kirkland brand cheese because Kirkland also makes batteries and diapers?

Are people just that desperate for something to get pissed off about?

panty ad featuring actual panties
by shootemupsally

Yeah, I have to agree. Of course I wish all ads geared towards women featured women of multiple sizes and races, didn't objectify them, blah, blah, blah, but I don't understand how you're supposed to sell sexy lingerie if not through sexy advertising. What explicitly targets children or tweens? What's the deal with these posts? Feminists and prudes alike unite against sexy panties?
