No apology necessary
by aLakeEffect

In the letter to Mr. Ramsey, the DA might have added "Perhaps if you hadn't worked so hard to obstruct the investigation...."

Bravo! My sentiments exactly. The Ramsey's first act after finding the broken body of their tiny daughter was to hire a publicist.Despicable.

It still took 12 years to resolve this. The fact that she was dressed in makeup and dressed up at her age was truly disturbing though, which is why the parents were so heavily accused.

The Ramsey's behavior, the circumstances of the girl's death and the way they comported themselves led people to believe they were suspect. What's troubling to get my head around is the seeming lack of in depth investigation to discover what happened. My sense is the investigation settled on the Ramsey's as primary suspects. i guess we're left to wonder what really happened and Jon Benet's right to have justice will never be served.
an apology is necessary and long overdue

Hiring a publicist, or even an attorney, is not evidence of guilt, nor is it obstruction of the investigation.

After the Duke lacrosse case, it should be clear that any innocent person should take all reasonable steps to protect himself from stupid cops and headline seeking district attorneys who want nothing more than to convict somebody for their own political gain.

There are good cops and conscientious DAs, but you never can be sure what you are going to get.

The original motive attributed to poor Mrs. Ramsey, that she killed her little daughter for wetting the bed, having no prior history of child abuse, was absurd.

How do you explain the handwriting experts who say that she wrote the ransom note?
