Creepy Cuddler

If you are this needy while sleeping you have got to be a real nightmare while awake. Can you go potty alone? Your boyfriend should get out before it's too late.

I agree with above. What sort of nut needs to be held while sleeping?

I disagree- I'm a cuddly sleeper, too. I don't always need to touch my partner when awake and about in the world, but when watching a movie alone or sleeping in the same bed, then there's something in the skin-to-skin contact that you don't get from a pillow.

If I were dating the LW's boyfriend, I'd probably have emotionally separated myself from him pretty early on and would have stopped seeing him pretty quickly.

The begging and crying thing, though... that's weird.

What I wonder: How do you know? Perhaps it is different for other people but once I am asleep, I am asleep. There is no awareness of my surroundings. Well, some, enough to wake up at odd intruder sounds and alarm clocks. But I really could not tell you how often my husband cuddles or doesn't, I am asleep. Is it different for other people?

I can't even share a blanket with my husband, much less cuddle while asleep. Sleeping is sleeping and is solitary as far as I'm concerned. I want him in the bed, but the other side is fine and dandy. We are very intimate and affectionate during consciousness, thankyouverymuch. If this sort of thing is a relationship-killer, that chick is a whack night & day.

How does she not get a stiff neck or pins and needles in her arms from the constant cuddling? I love my boyfriend and all, but when we go to bed it's a couple of minutes of my head on his chest, saying goofy I love yous and sweet dreams, then we both roll over and go to sleep. I would feel like I'm choking if I had to attempt to sleep intertwined with someone all night. We once got stuck sharing a twin during a family vacation and it was horrible! I was up all night coughing from lack of air, or at least it felt like it. I take great comfort in just knowing that he's there, especially if, say, I have a bad dream or something freaks me out late at night (active imagination over here!), I can look at him sleeping and kiss his back and feel better.

Has she even considered why her boyfriend doesn't like to cuddle all night? I have bad nerves or something and I get pins and needles from my fingers to elbows every night. If I were stuck between someone I'd really be afraid my arms would fall off. I need to be able to constantly move around when I sleep or else I lose feeling. I also have severe insomnia, being forced to hold onto someone sounds like torture, and that's from someone who can't keep her hands off her boyfriend during waking hours!

Possibly he could compromise as I do. After the cuddly then separate bodies but rest a hand on your partner. Keeps the contact but doesn't interfere with sleep.

That to me sounds like a circulation problem and you may need your heart checked. I could be wrong, just something to think about.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been seeing doctors for years about this problem and noone can come up with anything so I just deal with it. I think they think it's all in my head because nothing is coming up on their machines and in blood work.

Have you ever thought about going to a chiropractor? Usually the "pins and needle" feeling is from a nerve being irritated and a good chiro can fix that in just a couple visits. If you want to find a good one in your area go to: www.gonsteadseminars.com and search by location.
