1951 - Tudeh anti-American demonstrations in Iran

When U.S. Secretary of State Averell Harriman arrived in Tehran to discuss the Anglo-Iranian oil dispute, leftist Tudeh anti-American demonstrations erupted. On this day, the police and military crushed the protest, killing over 30 activists.
