they really are fascists; its like your worst nightmares have come true.

Oh God, we are in for hell. NOTHING satisfies these looney tunes. Look how everything changed, the Soveit Union no longer exists, there is a roaring market economy in Russia nd China, they no longer seek to overthrow anyone, and yet here we are, still living in this Republican HELL.

Except Congressional Acts trump Executive Orders. So really, all Slate is doing here is fear-mongering to its ignorant (you) readers. Isn't it crazy how knowledge can suddenly alleviate fear? You're welcome.

After the number of laws this administration has ignored, undermined or outright violated, you shouldn't calmly assume that the law would be followed quickly or smoothly. I agree with the writer that it's important to find out about the existence of such an executive order, and if it exists it should be clearly determined to be illegal, null and void BEFORE there is a real-world test of it.
