OBEISATING OBAMA

+3/-3 Reply

It's interesting how all the double standards that coalesce around Obama supporters come to the fore with this cartoon.
You have to wonder if they aren't going to put on their burkas and burnooses and demonstrate about prophet-abuse and the sin of Insufficient Obeisance that is being waged against He Who Must Be Obamaed. Effigies of the artist dressed in Hillary drag will undoubtedly be burned in firepits by swimming pools wherever pac money has been donated.

I would have gone with portraying Obama as Napoleon and Michelle as Lady Macboma. Is that an eintitlement I see before me?

And you have to ask yourself how much press this would be getting if Blitt had come out with a cover equally provocative about McCain.

What it says to me is that there is one paramount issue that defines Obama and that is control.

Were he to win --and this kind of attitude illustrates why he won't-- there would be cartoons about Sacred Cowbama every single day.

It's what cartoonists do. Echo the truth with a snicker.

Obama and his grim little band of Obamabots have re-defined PC. It now stands for Political Censorship.

And why it will come down to a constitutional lawyer eroding the First Amendment.

Not mention how many broken campaign promises before he has had the possibility of even being nominated.

For example, until Obama appeared on the scene the Huffington Post was a site that celebrated the First Amendment and a rainbow of dissent.

Now it has a band of fifteen censors tightly controlling every word printed there.

One of them on Saturday sent me a notice that I was banned from posting on their site in future.

I had been posting there nearly every single day since Cindy Sheehan set foot in Crawford.

But I do not support Obama and have no hesitation about saying why doing so is such a bad idea.

Which generally labels me as a bitter old lady white racist. All of which breezes by unimpeded their censors.

So most of my posts, especially anything favorable to Hillary Clinton, never got posted.

I suppose the best part of the Huffington Post are the comments lost to a band of anonymous manipulators.

But any posters that could be derogatory to Clinton have been posted by the yard.

On my profile, my archive space goes back to March. One of the Clinton bashers posted fifteen hours straight last week, using up all of her archive space in twelve hours to attack anyone who even cleared their throat regarding Obama. Not one insult about Hillary Clinton was censored.

My favorite observation about this is that Arianna Huffington has long been on a tear about how Karl Rove ignores public opinion.

Well, when you censor-proof your site against dissent, besides making for a homogeneously dull alternate reality, how are you not ignoring public opinion?

The other moot point is Obama losing. I'm in the Flyover. A giraffe could get more voters interested . No one here is thinking twice. they are giving it away to McCain.

Control is not an issue for anyone visibly secure in his position. Obama is not.

The Democratic Selection Committee will have to learn after the fact that you can foist a symbol of division and entitlement onto the ticket. But you can't get a populist majority to ever want to vote for it.

The fact that Obama is increasingly seen as a dour little prig in addition to being a sanctimoniously expedient Hologram doesn't do much for his electability either.

Or his rantingly hypocritical faction either.
How the Democrats think the same people who would rather have a second helping of George Bush (think about that for a moment) than accept Dean or Kerry are going to relate to Obama, let alone cast a vote for him, is beyond comprehending.

Especially when Hillary Clinton is an available logical alternative.
But the Democrats in this election merely exist to empower McCain, taxidermied and doddering as he may be.

I'm writing in Hillary Clinton and preparing to ignore another Republican president for the next four years.

It would be nice of both parties to come up with candidates that aren't an insult to the electorate but that's not going to happen.
...........and we are already paying the price for it.

Just remember people in crisis inevitably skew to the familiar.
Obama is as odd as it gets.
Even creepier is this level of bullying genuflection.

Or that cover wouldn't be there in the first place, would it?

Damn that was a good post!

Congratulations! Now you know how it feels to be a Republican. It's like watching an NFL game in which penalties are only called on your team, and the announcers openly cheer for the other. Enjoy!

Your candidate lost and is supporting Obama and asking for you to do so as well. She is doing this because they agree almost perfectly on all the major issues facing this country. Do you not trust her judgment or just not care that much about the future of America?

The Huffington Post is a model of liberal self absorption. Only Huffington editors know and see the truth. Relying on the H. Post for articulate debate would be like asking a fish to pedal a bike. Interesting in theory without any practical application.

Damn, that was a crappy post! Talk about pontification and self-importance!

Bravo! Excellent Post! Much deserved Edior's Pick, as well!
I was also amused and a bit angry at what has happened to you at Huffington Post. I never comment there but I have scanned and read the insane and huge amount of immature biting, sneering ,Hillary bashing comments at her web site.

It was bad over there..I knew that..but I had no idea she was also censoring Obama naysayers as well as encouraging the botification of America on her web site.

Thanks for that input here about Huff Post as well as your great observations on the Obamaitis Syndrome that so many of his followers seem to be suffering from today.

Great job!

Ahhh, such a fine narcissistic whine it is.

If i didnt care about my country I'd be a sheep like you and vote for whoever my party tells me to.

Besides, It is no longer my party.

Democrat since the day i was born, now I'll go to my grave an Independent. Not a biggie.

I'll vote for Hillary Clinton, unless she is on the ticket as Obama's VP, then I'll vote Biden, but I certainly am not about to let Hillary Clinton's party loyalties take priority over my own judgement in how i vote.

Obama has already shown me every possible reason not to vote for him and ot one single one why I should.

McCain is not my problem. he is the problem of the Democratic Selection Committee who should have known better.

And I like Bill Clinton's approach far better than Hillary's. Shut up and let Obama dig his own hole.

Then bury him when just the right time comes.

Sorry State of US Politics
by manfromv

I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican, I am just an observer of US politics and I do not hold a vote.

This is a revelation post about the sorry state of the US politics. Two equally qualified and competent Democrats fighting a very emotional hotly nomination contests. The supporters of the loosing candidate end up so demoralized and feeling cheated they can not accept their defeat and animosity lingers. I remember this is exactly the same situation in the 2000 general election. Bush won a hotly emotionally contested election over Gore; the outcome has to be decided by the Supreme Court. The loosing side, felt so bad and cheated and their animosity towards Bush is so intense which linger for the next 7 years. This resulted in 7 years of partisan, bitter, recrimination and destructive politics in the US.

It is a pathetic scene. No mater who is the ultimate winner of the general election, the loosing side will carry its bitterness for the next 4 years, and nothing worthwhile will get done. It will be partisan politics as usual. It is sad indeed for US as well as for the whole world.

"Obama has already shown me every possible reason not to vote for him and ot one single one why I should."

So you want to keep Bush's tax cuts going, further driving up our national debt and destroying the value of our currency?

You think we should keep ourselves overextended in Iraq until we "win" (whatever that means)?

"McCain is not my problem. he is the problem of the Democratic Selection Committee who should have known better."

Your not an American? Because if he gets elected, he will be a problem for every American, now and for generations to come through the policies he believes in.

The DSC enforced the rules that were in place before the race started and that Hillary agreed to. Nobody could have known they would lead to Obama's victory and in fact she began with a signifcant number of superdelegates from the DNC and was practically coronated until the Iowa cauces.

GETTING YOUR ICARUS ON
by gala1

BLUESHIFT:

Oh please.

It won't be my single vote withheld from Obama that will elect Mccain. It will be the Democratic National Committee giving us an unacceptable candidate.

Just who do you think will be voting for him in the Flyover?

You can foist him on us, but you cannot make us vote for him, can you?

Especially in the small-town congregations where Rove first mined his craft.

Besides, people in crisis ALWAYS skew to the comfort of the familiar. And no matter how unacknowledged , we are living daily in crisis.

Obama could have taken the time to build a track record and get some branding experience by being the first multi-racial vice president. It was his own choice not to.

There is no there there. He's a hologram, probably even to himself when it comes to anything other than the self-promotion of ambition.

That's how he can so blithely break promises. There is nothing behind them to stand by.

His hubris is such that he, and you, need to find out that sixteen months of being determined to the first mainstream black candidate now will cost him sixteen years in being part of the next four administrations.

A pity------But that's what getting your Icarus on is all about.

"It won't be my single vote withheld from Obama that will elect Mccain. It will be the Democratic National Committee giving us an unacceptable candidate."

If he wins he will still be your problem, whoever you vote for. I never voted for Bush but his legacy will be my problem until I die.

"Just who do you think will be voting for him in the Flyover?"

A good portion of these people.

"There is no there there. He's a hologram, probably even to himself when it comes to anything other than the self-promotion of ambition."

I just saw another post where you decided his years of state and senate legislative experience are meaningless, so I know you at least have seen the links. If you want to trivialize that experience, fine but pretending there is nothing and no record of his stances is absurd.

"His hubris is such that he, and you, need to find out that sixteen months of being determined to the first mainstream black candidate..."

He was never running to be a "black candidate" mainstream or otherwise, he is running as an American candidate. Why are you even bringing that up?

Re: GETTING YOUR ICARUS ON

Blue shift-

You've been following me around forever with your delusions.

Knock yourself out. It's not me that is going to lose the election for Obama. It's Obama.

He let hubris triumph over marketing.

He'll lose. Let me be the first to say I told you so.

There is no statistic you can show me past what I see all around me.

You are too deep into delusion and too far away from small-town America and what it is having a hard time going through for you to understand .

And I don't need to prove it to you. Election Day will.

Thee only chance the Democrats have of winning this election, even against taxidermied , doddering McCain, is finding another candidate that is not iconic of division, entitlement, zealots and partisan agendas.

Because they have just spent eight years having that. They a re not about to bet on an unquantifiable third helping.

So dream on. It should make you happy until the real world off your keyboard trumps your gullibility.

it's kind of sad that hope can blind you to the extent it has. But that's how charlatans drive to the bank.

You want to chauffeur them, have a nice ride.

" You've been following me around forever with your delusions."

That just sounds paranoid. Why would I bother following you around? I check if people reply to my posts, and read a lot of the fray, nothing special about you.

"There is no statistic you can show me past what I see all around me."

I see. To paraphrase: "I know the truth and don't care what facts you have". That being the case, goodbye and have a nice day.
