I guess it never occurred to Jack that maybe the damned picture was just a BAD IDEA! And I'm not even an Obama supporter. This truly was tasteless, and I can't believe for a minute that it was meant as a "harmless joke." Could it be that the New Yorker supported New York Senator Clinton's bid for the Presidency, and that this is a case of sour grapes being passed off as satire? 'Cause that's what it looks like to me. The real joke is on the New Yorker, for thinking they could get away with this. Some jokes just aren't funny.
