I am sad to say I served with many, many men who were exactly like this.

They protest too much about "fags." They tend not to read anything more substantive than "Beaver Hunt," the readers' wives page in Hustler, and many exhibit perfectly crude minds ... They're not above half-assed pedophilia jokes at the expense of fourth-graders writing them letters.

Well, it seems you chose to hang around with the wrong group then.......and as they say you will be know by those you hang around with.

There are far more decent, upstanding men in the military than those that you describe.

Let me explain. I was in the fucking military. I was in maintenance in a career field where most often I was the only woman in the shop. I didn't get to pick the guys I worked with. I was stuck in a maintenance bay day in a day out with men as described in the article.

This is my experience. Perhaps when they went home to their wives they were decent, upstanding men but when they were at work they were homophobic,bigoted, misogynistic, and talked incessantly about sex.

Perhaps they were a little of both. Decent and bigoted depending on where they were.

Perhaps you simply view men like this as decent and upstanding because you are homophobic, bigoted, misogynistic, and talk endlessly about sex.
