In the spirit of Dem unity

Can I give Obama some advice?

Senator, when those who should be your biggest supporters want to cut your nuts off, you have a problem

You might want to rethink your strategy.

I'm just sayin...

Re: In the spirit of Dem unity??

Or in the spirit of sowing dissension in the Democratic Party by taking positions (Jesse Jackson's) to which you, Bite, don't hold in order to bash Obama? To wit:

The Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized to Sen. Obama's campaign Wednesday over "hurtful" remarks. An open microphone picked up Jackson whispering, "See, Barack's been talking down to black people ... I want to cut his nuts off."

Jackson told CNN's "Situation Room" that he didn't realize the microphone was on.

Jackson's son, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. of Illinois -- co-chair of Obama's presidential campaign -- publicly blasted his father's comments Wednesday.

"I'm deeply outraged and disappointed in Rev. Jackson's reckless statements about Sen. Barack Obama," the younger Jackson said. "His divisive and demeaning comments about the presumptive Democratic nominee -- and I believe the next president of the United States -- contradict his inspiring and courageous career."

Jackson Jr. added that he'll "always love" his father. But, he said, "I thoroughly reject and repudiate his ugly rhetoric."

Earlier, Jackson told CNN he felt "very distressed because I'm supportive of this campaign and with the senator.

"I was in a conversation with a fellow guest on Sunday. He asked about Barack's speeches lately at the black churches. I said he comes down as speaking down to black people," Jackson said.

In a recent Father's Day speech at a black church, Obama took absent black fathers to task, saying, "We need them to realize that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child -- it's the courage to raise one."

While Jackson didn't cite any particular comment, he told CNN that Obama's message to black voters must be broader and serve as more than a "moral challenge."

The black community is faced with high levels of unemployment, home foreclosures and violence, "so we have some real serious issues -- not just moral issues," he said.

However, Jackson said after finding out about the open microphone, he immediately contacted the Obama campaign to apologize.

I think we can summarize by saying that you are now a Republican operative airing the dirty laundry of the Democrats. As with LaurieAnn, you should make it clear to all who read your posts where you stand by appending the following:

--McCain '08

Katya Notzoff
by ducadmo

This is all one big misunderstanding. See, Katya Notzoff was a famous Russian composer who came to America in the late nineteeth century and was so impressed by Negro Spirituals that she was inspired to write 'The New World Sonata' - and it would have been a huge success were it not for some Czech guy named Antonín Dvořák who was also here around the same time and just happened to write some ditty as he was goin' home, but his agents got a lot more play time on the radio and hardly anyone remembered Katya.

Except that the 'New World Sonata' was written in five flats because Katya moved around a lot (Ok, so Victor Borge wrote that), but musical people such as myself know that five flats means you use all the black keys and it just so happens that Barack Obama was the black key note speaker at the last Democratic Convention.

So you see, this is just a kind of inside joke between us Rainbow Coalition types - anytime somebody mentions black key notes, Jesse gets all sentimental about Negro Spirituals and Katya Notzoff is the first thing that comes out of his mouth. He's just gettin old, you know, and we just have to roll our eyes.

Genedio, that was quite a spin there,But, What Jackson said is a symbol of those who have lived off of race baiting all their lives, made their living off of it.

Then you have the new generation that are sick and tired of the race baiting and whining about,"How bad folks have it."

You well know I am not an Obama fan. I think he is a fake, but he is telling people to get off their butts, stay in school, quit dreaming of being a rapper or basketbll star and make an honest living.

The Sharpton's and Jackson's are on their way out,and many of my so called,"Black Friends," cannot wait to see them gone!

Quite a spin, MaryAnne? Tell me, do you think Bite, or LaurieAnn, for that matter, subscribes to Jesse Jackson's POV? You don't, and I think it is fair to that they don't, as well. So what is Bite doing but airing the dirty laundry of people who call themselves Democrats in order to help John McCain?

That's what Obama gets for pretending to be sane. He is losing all the kooks.

Jackson is irrelevant and fearful that if Obama is elected he, Jackson, will become even more irrelevant. If Obama becomes president then we won't see Jackson and Sharpton anymore.

Huh??
Re: Why should Jesse be...
by Lono

one of Obama's biggest supporters? Because they're both black Democrats?

So, let me get this straight...you're now advising Obama to pander to Jesse. Is that about right?

Funny, something tells me that if Obama were to take your advice, you'd soon change your tune and tell him to stop pandering to Jesse.

I think I just said that,Jack:o)

I have long been a Democrat. That does not mean i have not seen where they went too far.Welfare was one.

When welfare was first started by FDR it was a way to help starving families until they could get work. It evolved into a generational thing as they passed new Laws. The lazy loved it.That is why I have to give credit for Obama telling the truth to many.Whites are as bad as blacks when it comes to welfare as a living.

I was quite happy to see Clinton go with Newt and the Republican congress and change it.

What Jesse did,Genedio,is to reveal his own character.I do not blame Obama for this one.

What people say when they think no one can hear is revealing of how they feel in private.Like Bush calling the Reporter an, Ah to Cheney.I knew that day I would never vote for him.I have seen Obama switch like a whirlwind. So cannot vote for him either.

As to those other people,I do not control what they say.Do not want to.

If I am Laurie Ann
by biteoftheweek

then you are ciinc

After all, you support the same candidate, don't you?

Addendum
by biteoftheweek

If you were really interested in Dem unity, you and your fellow Obama supporters would be taking the assholes who are still attacking Hillary to task for stirring up shit.

But you really don't, so you are not.

You are content to allow everything to pass except truths about Obama. Obama got 90% of the Black vote--played teh race card over and over, while his surrogates and supporters attacked Hillary and her supporters for voting on gender.

This election is like being stuck in the book 1984. Only the left is doing it. Up is down if they say it is.

Hypocrisy rules.

Way to heal the party

Obama is pissing a lot of people off
by biteoftheweek

Talking down to Blacks

Throwing abortion rights under the bus

Voting to have us all spied on.

Hell, is there any difference between him and McCain (besides experience?)

What next?

Re: Obama is pissing a lot of people off
by LaurieAnnM

what's next? good question...based on what else we've already seen from him ,like changing his stance on public financing, changing his stance on Iran, modifying his position on withdrawl from Iraq and changing his opinion of Reverend Wright as his spiritual inspiration and life long mentor and hero to literally denouncing him like so much inconvenient trash..I'd say what's next from him is already a thought too unsavory to even ponder.

and p.s. no, of course you are not me.

Strange how the Obama bots seem to need to believe the millions who don't buy into Obama's bullshit walk in lockstep like they do. Such dedicated little goosestepping bots they are,indeed.heh.

McCain '08.

I would just as soon see
by biteoftheweek

Mccain be president as be tied to a pit of fire ants.

I want Obama to be what they all promised, not the douchebag most of his supporters seem to be.
