John McCain has now been to Canada, Colombia and Mexico. He met with leaders of these countries and held talks. In Ottawa, he gave a speech to the Economic Club of Canada. In Cartagena, Senator McCain toured the historic city Cartagena, met with Colombian leaders as well with ordinary Colombians in a meet and greet and reviewed joint US-Colombian anti-narcotics efforts. In Mexico, Senator McCain toured the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe. He then met with President Felipe Calderon of Mexico. They talked about trade, immigration and narco-trafficking. He did not hold rallies.

Your idea to hold rallies abroad sets a dangerous precedent. You are politicizing an American political campaign beyond our borders and that carries great risk for the United States and no reward. You are not yet President of the United States. Respect the wishes of Chancellor Angela Merkel and her government. Act like a candidate for President and be respectful of the wishes of others. Here is what Chancellor Merkel’s spokesman, Thomas Steg, had to say on the matter:

“No German candidate for high office would think to use the National Mall or Red Square in Moscow for a rally, because it would be seen as inappropriate,” Mr. Steg said, though he added that Mrs. Merkel welcomed Mr. Obama’s visit.

All I get from the top post is that Obama is popular in Europe and he is going to illustrate that. Do you have a problem with that? I don't. I really, really don't. I think if the President of the United States is going to call himself the leader of the Free World, he should make an attempt to demonstrate that.

As for integrity, all I was pointing out is that people like yourself and the top poster might try looking that word up in a dictionary. I don't think it's going to help, but that would be a good place to start. What, pray tell, suggests that this visit lacks integrity?

For the record, I like Hillary - just didn't vote for her. Liked Obama better. Voted for McCain as Senator. As senators from Arizona go, he's not bad. He is getting old. Senators can be old. He's not evil, either. But he is a dumbass like Bush. When the time comes, I'll expand on that.

It's all but certain that Democrats will pick up four seats in the Senate, it's likely they will gain a half dozen in the House. The Presidential race appears close, but Obama has been leading in all the national polls for almost two months and more importantly - seems to be doing very well in key states.

If that's your definition of screwed - maybe your definition of screwed is screwed.

I didn't think we'd get this far. It certainly isn't over, but I wouldn't define where we're at as 'screwed'. I'm pleased with where things are at right now. The one and only thing that troubles me is the FISA vote. I can't sell that one.
