OK Libs, put your money where your mouth is....
by StanH

Apparently there's been some non-story about "scientists" saying that "maybe" polar ice will all melt this summer. That's what our "news" sources are telling us, anyway.

I say there will be polar ice by the end of summer. I'm so confident of this, I'm willing to pay $10 for every dollar any one of you liberals puts up on this story. How many of you liberals are one tenth as confident in the so-called "news" of the "possibility"?

I'm sure I'll be flooded with bets looking to win some easy money off me, right?

ROTFLMAO! Stan thinks it's good
by Pop-Eye
he might win some money if only one square yard of polar ice is left this summer! That's good?
10-1 odds?
by Smiley1979

I'll put down $50 bucks.

But we'll need an anonymous payment system so you and your tweaker buddies don't come rob my shit.

Nice try, Bill. The "scientists" are warning of the "possibility" that all the polar ice will melt this summer.

Nice try.

Awesome. So either you provide evidence that all the polar ice has melted by the end of summer, or pay me $50.

Thanks!

You missed my point again!

Why do you feel that heralding the fact that all the iced might not melt is a good thing?
Well now you're changing shit around
by Smiley1979

You'll never accept anything as proof, you're not honest enough. We'll use the NSIDC data, unless you've got another real scientific source you'd like to suggest.

And remember, if I need to give you any personal info to get my $500 bucks then I don't want your money. After taking your whole welfare check, your whole trailer park will want to rob me.

Re: You missed my point again!

No, actually it's you that's missing the point. The point is that scientists making silly predictions of possibilities (no matter how slim) now qualifies as news. All the ice will not melt. That you can be sure of. It's not a matter of heralding, it's a matter of sticking with reality and avoiding hysterical, manufactured "news" items. Now how much will you be betting, punk?

Re: Well now you're changing shit around

Hee hee hee... so all you need is for 11,440,000 square kilometers of ice to melt in the next 75 days or so. And no worries about the $500... some of that ice will remain, so it's you that will be paying up. I can only hope that the loss of a measly $50 will be enough for you to learn how silly it is to subscribe to manufactured stories by "scientists".

I bet more on football

But I can't pass up a sucker offering 10-1 when it should be even money.

You are simply making fun of a grim

situation. As if I'd be silly enough to bet on something so profound would be an indicator of a foolish person! You do the betting!

I'm not usually a betting person. Once in a while I buy a lottery ticket. But I found this "story" so amusing, I couldn't help it. :)

No, I'm making fun of "scientists" manufacturing "news" simply to get global warming cultists aggravated. Obviously, you're below the brain power needed to be able to see that.

My condolences.

Good for you

Amused now, pissed off when you pay up in September, I guess it balances out.
Re: OK Libs, put your money where your mouth is....

You didn't understand the reports, Stan. What they said was that it was going to happen, they had thought it would happen later, but now it looks as though it will happen earlier. We are further along the warming path than they had previously expected.

I don't care to make bets with you. You wouldn't keep up your end. You would try to get out of it by making it so non-specific that it wouldn't be enforceable.
